Clery Geography

The Clery Act considers the following three types of properties part of “Clery geography” for the purposes of Clery Act reporting. Crimes occurring in any of these areas are considered Clery crimes that must be reported by CSAs.

On-Campus

Property is considered Clery geography if it is owned or controlled by UCM, used by UCM in direct support of, or in a manner related to, educational purposes. UCM on-campus locations include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • All buildings/property on UCM campus, including student residence halls.

Public Property

Public property immediately adjacent to and accessible from campus is considered Clery geography. UCM Clery public property includes, but is not limited to, the following.

  • Roads immediately adjacent to campus (including sidewalks adjacent to campus).

Non-Campus Buildings or Property

Property is considered Clery geography if it is owned or controlled by UCM, used by UCM in direct support of, or in a manner related to, educational purposes, and frequented by students. As well as any property that is owned or controlled by Student Organizations that is officially recognized by UCM. UCM owned/controlled locations include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • 550 East Shaw Ave., Fresno, CA 
  • 4225 Hospital Road, Buildings 1200 and 1201, Atwater, CA
  • 755 E. Yosemite Ave., Bldg B (Suites ABCDE), Merced, CA
  • 767 E. Yosemite Ave. Bldg. C (Suites KM), Merced, CA
  • 2930 G Street, Merced CA
  • 62821 Wolverton Road, Lodgepole, CA
  • “Wolverton – Storage – Front 210
  • 2615, 2618 and 2639 W. Bruce Ave., Wawona, CA
  • 2487 River Road, Wawona, CA
  • 7799 Chilnualna Falls Rd., (#4000 and #4050), Wawona, CA
  • Hotels in which students stay for school-sponsored travel for more than one night or on a regular basis.
